Larrazabal hosts race for quake victims Sunday

RUNNING patron Dr. Potenciano “Yong” Larrazabal III and the Run For Sight Foundation will be organizing another fund-raising running event this Sunday for the benefit of the victims of the 7.2-magnitude earthquake that rocked Bohol and Cebu last week.

The fund-raising running event dubbed Run For SugBohol will start and end at the Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) Hospital’s gymnasium along Osmeña Boulevard.

Funds that will be raised here will be given to GMA-7’s Kapuso Foundation to help Cebuanos and Boholanos affected by the quake.

This is one of many races for a cause spearheaded by Larrazabal. He also organized races for the benefit of Guimaras during the oil spill crisis and typhoons Ondoy and Sendong victims.

FEATURED STORIES

The running event drew support from the unified business and socio-civic organizations dubbed Bangon Sugbohol Movement. It will have 3k, 5k and 10k distances.

The top 10 runners in each distance will be awarded with official Bangon Sugbohol shirts courtesy of Island Souvenirs. Registration will kick off today at the Run For Sight Foundation headquarters at the CDU Hospital. Registration fee is pegged at P300 for the 3k and 5k and P400 for the 10k distance. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
