Jail officer loses P100,000 in Quezon City burglary

These burglars are apparently not afraid to go to jail.

Robbers took nearly P100,000 in cash and valuables from the house of a jail officer in Quezon City on Friday afternoon.

Jail officer Aubrey Robles, 22, discovered the burglary when she came home to her apartment on Ofelia Street in Barangay (village) Bahay Toro at 3:30 p.m.

Case investigator PO3 Jovy Pobre of the Quezon City Police District said the victim lost a camera worth P30,000, a gold ring, around P61,000 in cash, and a dog tag and class pin.

Police said the robbers gained entry to the apartment by forcing open the main door. They then ransacked it in their search for valuables.—Julie M. Aurelio
