Drug suspect falls in Talamban buy-bust
DUE to the complaints of the wives of his alleged customers, a 26-year-old man allegedly involved in illegal drug trade was arrested in a buy-bust operation in barangay Talamban, Cebu City Monday afternoon.
Ronel Damaolao was arrested after he allegedly sold a pack of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer.
Operatives of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force (CAIDSOTF) also seized four packs believed to contain shabu from the man’s possession.
Senior Insp. Eunil Avergonzado, chief of CAIDSOTF, said they conducted the operation against Damaolao after receiving a report from the wives of habal-habal drivers that Damaolao was involved in selling shabu.
The wives complained that their husbands have been buying shabu from the suspect and failed to remit their daily earnings.
Damaolao allegedly admitted that he was involved in the illegal drug trade. He said his financier is living in sitio Dita, barangay Pulangbato, Cebu City.
Police asked the media to withhold the name of the financier pending further investigation.
In a separate buy-bust operation, Dave Jeremiah Hera, 26, was arrested after he allegedly sold marijuana sticks in barangay Mambaling Monday evening.
Operatives of the City Intelligence Branch recovered 138 marijuana sticks worth P10,000 from Hera’s possession. /CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
