Bureau of Treasury says no damage from fire

MANILA, Philippines—The Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) did not suffer any damage from the fire that hit Palacio del Gobernador building in Intramuros Manila on Saturday.

This was according to National Treasurer Rosalia de Leon, who said there will be no work disruption at the BTr.

She also said the scheduled auction of Treasury bills on Monday will proceed.

“No damage. Auction will proceed,” De Leon said in a text message to the INQUIRER Sunday morning.

Reports said fire hit the building, which also houses the Commission on Elections, around noon Saturday but was put out immediately by responding firefighters.

The Comelec has already said it also suffered no damage from the fire.
