Goldberry reclaims title in SHAABAA caging

AFTER A TWO-YEAR wait, the Goldberry Suites reclaimed the throne that they had been so close to these past years after beating the youthful Insular Square, 39-37, in Game Two of the best-of-three championship series of the 2013 Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Mivesa Cup last week at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue.

Goldberry had to thread the needle as it bucked a disastrous fourth period showing wherein it managed a measly three points and needed crucial points from the Huang brothers, Jeremy and Justin to pull off the title-clinching victory.

The last time Goldberry hoisted the trophy was in 2010. It placed second the last two seasons. Jeremy Huang paced the winners with 12 points and five boards while Justin Huang added nine. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
