‘Jet Lee’ is 1st to fall in gun ban in Cebu
A VIDEOKE customer was arrested shortly after midnight yesterday, the first day in the implementation of the election gun ban.
Jetlee Patayan, a 24-year-old resident of Purok Malaumon, Tingub, Mandaue City, was arrested for bringing his .38 caliber revolver inside a videoke bar in Sector 7, Pagsabungan, Mandaue City at 12:30 am. SP01 Gregorio Cabisares, desk officer of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) said they were called by a concerned citizen who saw Patayan with a gun tucked in his waist.
Police Station 3 chief Senior Insp. Genilo Veraque and his men immediately went to the videoke bar and saw Patayan. He was immediately arrested.
Protection
Asked why he was armed with a gun, Patayan said he needs the firearm for protection.
“He claimed he had an enemy based on his allegation,” Cabisares said.
Article continues after this advertisementCabisares said Patayan could not present a license for his gun, so he will face double charges of violation of the election gun ban and illegal possession of firearms.
