Child, teenager hurt in accidents

A WOMAN was severely hurt after she was hit by a motorcycle while crossing MC Briones St., Maguikay, Mandaue City Sunday evening.

Paramedics rushed Ronelyn Salivio of Barangay Carreta, Cebu City to the hospital for treatment of her bruises and a possible bone fracture after she was thrown to the ground by the impact. Salivio did not notice the speeding motorcycle driven by 19-year-old Christian Cantutay of Barangay Tabok, Mandaue City because another vehicle was blocking her sight.

In another accident, a grade one pupil was hit by a speeding motorcycle while he was on his way to Malabuyoc Central Elementary School yesterday morning

Eight-year-old Jun-jun Montes of Poblacion II sustained head and body injuries and was taken to Cebu City for treatment.

The driver of the motorcycle, Alex Carsido, 56, surrendered to the authorities and is temporarily detained at the Malabuyoc Police Station. /CORRESPONDENTS CHRISTINE EMILY L. PANTALEON AND NORMAN V. MENDOZA
