Search is on for Miss Cebu 2014

MISS Cebu is now starting to accept applicants for its 30th annual beauty-and-brain pageant for next year.

Applicants must be single, Filipino citizen, with pleasing personality, at least 5’3” in height, of good moral character, at least a high school graduate this school year, fluent in English, a resident of Cebu for at least a year, 18 years of age by Oct. 31 and not turning 25 years old on Dec. 1, willing to travel and to reign for a one-year term, and not a participant of other beauty searches for the duration of the pageant.

CCTC executive director Cinbeth Orellano said the first screening of applicants will be on Sept. 29. Orellano said at least 12 candidates will be chosen to compete for the title.

The chosen candidates will undergo training and workshops. The Miss Cebu 2014 coronation night is set on Jan. 15 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

Miss Cebu is Cebu City’s search for its official representative and spokesperson. It is a project of the Cebu City government, in collaboration with CCTC and Cebu City Tourism Foundation Inc., various stakeholders and sponsors. It is one of the highlights of the Sinulog festival.

Application forms are available at the Cebu City Tourism Commission (CCTC) office through Cinbeth, Ana or Martina at 4124355 and at the mayor’s office in Cebu City Hall through Juvy Montecillo at 2556984 or at the Student Affairs Office of the different high schools, colleges and universities in Cebu City.
