Picpa Bulls shock league-leader Hoopers in Picpa basketball tilt

THE Picpa Bulls halted the four-game win streak of league-leader Hoopers via a 70-63 beating last Saturday to improve its win-loss record to 2-3 while the latter dropped to 4-1 in the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA)-2013 basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym.

PICPA Bulls jumped to a 28-16 lead in the opening period but the Hoopers responded with a 22-13 run in the second quarter to close the gap at halftime, 38-40.

Both protagonists fought on even terms in the third which resulted ion two deadlocks but the Bulls ended the quarter on top, 53-50.

The Bulls then outscored the Hoopers, 17-13 in the fourth with pointguard Edlin Endrina accounting for 13 of those points for the seven-point victory.

FEATURED STORIES

Endrina led the Bulls with a game-high 31 points while Junar Torres and Lito Ortiz paced the Hoopers with 17 and 15 points, respectively as Yoly Meso add 11 markers.

Earlier, the Picpa Wildcats of Rainer Mora won by default over Picpa Snipers, while Phoenix also defaulted against the Intangibles.
