No coding scheme on Aug. 29, 30
The number-coding scheme in Metro Manila is lifted on Aug. 29 and 30, which Malacañang had declared as holidays.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) made the announcement Saturday on its official Twitter account.
Under the scheme, vehicles with license plate numbers ending in 1 and 2 are barred from major roads from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays.
On Tuesdays, vehicles with plate numbers ending in 3 and 4 are barred from main roads from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Palace had announced earlier that Aug. 29, National Heroes’ Day, is a holiday.
President Aquino also signed Proclamation No. 234 setting Aug. 30 as a regular holiday in observance of Eid’l Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
