Former aide seeks guidance from soon to-be saint

/ 08:21 AM September 15, 2013

Archbishop Piero Marini is hoping that his friend, Blessed John Paul II, will continue to guide him from heaven.

“I was close to him, physically close to him, for over 18 years. I hope something from him like the dust will remain in me. I hope his holiness will remain in me. I hope that Pope John Paul II will still continue to look at me from heaven and keep my hands  in the right direction,” said Marini, liturgical aide of Pope John Paul II in 1987.

Marini said he’s happy that  Pope John Paul II, who died in April 2, 2005, will soon be declared a saint. /Reporter Ador Vincent S. Mayol
