UV continues winning ways

LAST YEAR’S protagonists in the championship game of the men’s division suffered contrasting fates last Friday night in what has been a rollercoaster ride for both the reigning champions University of San Carlos (USC) and runners-up University of the Visayas (UV) in the 2013 Cesafi volleyball tournament at the Aznar Coliseum.

After starting the season with two straight losses, the Green Lancers are gaining momentum as they won their third game in a row with a 25-23, 25-19, 25-19 sweep over the Cebu Institute of Technology-University.

On the other hand, the Spiking Warriors suffered their third loss in five outings after they were upset by the hard-fighting and much-improved University of Cebu Webmasters in four sets, 25-22, 25-22, 22-25, 25-20. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
