MNLF forces in Sulu on the move–sources

ZAMBOANGA CITY – There are movement of Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) forces in the province of Sulu, sources said.

The sources, both civilian residents and in the military, confirmed the MNLF movement.

Nur Misuari, leader of the MNLF faction that invaded Zamboanga City on Monday, is from Sulu.

But Sulu vice governor Abdusakur Tan said “di naman ganun kagulo wala namang putukan (It’s not that disorderly, there’s no gunfire).”

Earlier, another fire hit Santa Barbara, the village where MNLF forces have been trapped since Monday.

Fire Supt. Dominador Zabala Jr. said fire broke out at around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Zabala said the fire happened near the four houses that were destroyed in a fire that hit the area around 2:30 p.m.

“We can’t get through the area and we are still awaiting the go signal from the military to put off the fire. Right now we can’t penetrate the place, ” Zabala said.
