Digos man arrested for repeatedly raping 12-year-old daughter
DIGOS CITY, Philippines—Police arrested a 28-year-old man here on Friday for allegedly raping his 12-year-old daughter repeatedly.
Senior Superintendent Michael John Dubria, chief of the regional intelligence division of the Southern Mindanao police, said the man was arrested in Sitio San Nicolas in Barangay Tres de Mayo here around 11 a.m. following a complaint lodged by the daughter.
Initial investigation showed the man started raping his daughter on August 26.
The rape was repeated four times more on September 5 alone, the girl told the police’s Women and Child Protection Desk.
Senior Superintendent Ronaldo Llanera, provincial police director, said the father would rape the child whenever the mother was away.
The suspect remained mum on the allegations and was being held at the police’s holding facility here while authorities awaited a court order on where to send him.
