Transport protest set Aug. 31 vs oil price hikes
MANILA, Philippines – A transport protest will be held on August 31 against the continuous rise in oil prices, an official of one of the participating groups said in a statement Thursday.
The Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide (Piston) will be joining other organizations of jeepney and FX drivers and operators in the Nationally Coordinated People’s Protest in a caravan that will go to the offices of Chevron, Shell Philippines and Petron, said George San Mateo, Piston secretary-general.
The protest will be staged simultaneously with others nationwide, San Mateo said.
