QC police investigators come to holdup victim’s rescue

/ 05:11 AM August 27, 2013

Two men ended up behind bars after policemen chanced upon them trying to rob a man at knife-point in Quezon City Sunday.

Case investigator PO2 George Caculba said Joven Dumaraog, 36, and Hermon Perez, 28, later underwent inquest proceedings for robbery before Quezon City Assistant City Prosecutor Ben de la Cruz who recommended bail of P100,000 each for their liberty.

Operatives of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit led by SPO2 Apolonio Basit caught the two taking the phone of Orland Bautista at 4:45 a.m. on Sunday at the corner of Edsa’s northbound lane and Main Avenue in Cubao.

The policemen confronted the two and during a search, Perez yielded a knife while the victim’s cell phone was found in Dumaraog’s possession.—Julie M. Aurelio
