San Mateo placed under state of calamity

MANILA, Philippines – The municipality of San Mateo in Rizal was placed under state of calamity Tuesday afternoon as torrential rains continued to pummel parts of Luzon.

The board members of the council (Sanggunian) declared the state of calamity at 1p.m, Dong Malonzo of Rizal Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council told INQUIRER.net.

He said that there are 613 families sheltered in evacuation centers as of latest.

Batasan Bridge, was also at third alarm as its water levels reached 21 meters.
