Brownout hits mall, plaza areas
A BROWNOUT occurred in areas along SM City Cebu to Plaza Independencia following a 30-minute downpour at 3 p.m yesterday.
In a statement sent to Cebu Daily News Theresa Gonzales-Sederiosa, Visayan Electric Co. (Veco) corporate communications manager, said their feeder supplying power to this area tripped off after the downpour.
As of 5:08 p.m. power in some parts of the affected area were already restored.
“Our engineers were still working to restore the remaining parts affected. Hopefully we can determine what caused the feeder to trip,” Sederiosa said.
As of 6 p.m engineers found a broken primary line at corner V. Sotto and Osmeña Boulevard which they suspect may have caused the feeder to trip and cause the brownout. Reporter Aileen Garcia-Yap
