Woman dies in Mandaluyong fire
MANILA, Philippines – A woman was killed in a predawn fire that razed a house in Mandaluyong City Tuesday.
Fire Officer 2 Hoover Moral of the National Capital Region Bureau of Fire Protection identified the fatality as 50-year-old caretaker Cristita Blanca.
He said their investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire which gutted the two-story house along Lawson Street near the corner of Shaw Boulevard in Silang village at 3:42 a.m.
Fire out was declared at 4:40 a.m. after the blaze reached second alarm, said Moral.
He said that Blanca may have died from suffocation after she was trapped inside the burning house.
