Missing call center agent turns up minus head, legs
A day after he went missing, the body of a call center agent was found on Wednesday wrapped in a garbage bag and stuffed inside a balikbayan box but minus his head and legs.
Mark Reu Abesamis, an employee of APAC, was identified only after a news report about the discovery of a mutilated body at the corner of Matimyas and Maceda Streets in Sampaloc, Manila, came out on television. His wife later came forward and identified him through the clothes he was wearing. The police, however, have yet to find his car, a Toyota Altis, his cell phone and other valuables.
Homicide investigator PO2 Mario Asilo of the Manila Police District said the 32-year-old victim went missing on Tuesday night.
Earlier that day, Abesamis’ wife said she last saw her husband when he left their house in Novaliches, Quezon City, on board their car to go to a gym in Fairview.
She added that at 1:30 p.m., the victim called her to say that he would be meeting his friend George Martinez on Aurora Boulevard, Quezon City, to discuss a possible business venture.
He called again at 6 p.m. to tell her that he was meeting a certain Agnes at a mall in Fairview to get the packages sent by his mother from abroad.
