02:58 PM August 08, 2013

A MAN tagged as the most wanted drug personality in Medellin town, northern Cebu was arrested in a busy-bust operation yesterday.
Elisio Uy Leng and his alleged cohort Benjie Tuñacao Monino were arrested after they allegedly sold two packs of suspected shabu worth P1,000 to a poseur-buyer past 4 p.m. last Tuesday inside Leng’s house in barangay Panugnawan.
The operation was conducted by operatives of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Group (PAIDSOTG) of the Cebu Provincial Police Office.
Supt. Rodolfo Albotra, head of the Provincial Intelligence Branch, said Leng has a standing arrest warrant for illegal drug charges.
The warrant was issued by Judge Ireneo Lee Gako Sr. of the Regional Trial Court Branch 5 in Cebu City.
Several packs of suspected shabu worth P60,000 and two .38 caliber revolvers were recovered from Leng’s house.
A .45 caliber pistol with six bullets was also confiscated from Leng’s possession.
Aside from drug charges, Albotra said Leng was also previously charged for allegedly killing one Joevanie Rosell last April 30.
Police said Leng could dispose of 25 to 50 grams of shabu per week and is considered as Medellin’s number one drug personality and number five in the drug watchlist of PIB./REPORTER JOY CHERRY S. QUITO
