MANILA, Philippines—The Supreme Court said Tuesday it has dismissed with finality the motion for reconsideration filed by convicted child rapist Romeo Jalosjos that questioned its decision to bar him from running for Mayor in Zamboanga City during the midterm elections last May.

The SC Public Information Office also said its latest decision also prohibits him from filing of further pleadings or motions.

“Entry of judgement shall be made in due course,” the SC said.

Jalosjos asked the SC to dismiss a resolution issued by the Commission on Elections, which canceled his certificate of candidacy for the local post in Zamboanga City due to his rape conviction.
