Bus conductor killed at home

A bus conductor was killed while his live-in partner was injured when an unidentified gunman attacked them while they were sleeping in their house in barangay Giloctog, Barili town, southwest Cebu.

Jomar Caminos, 25, succumbed to gunshot wounds in the chest and shoulder. His girlfriend Jonalyn Lumaino, 25, was wounded in the right leg.

The couple was brought to the Barili District Hospital but Caminos did not make it alive.

PO1 Jotemar Tejano of Barili police said that while the couple was sleeping, a man arrived and started calling to Caminos while outside the house past 2 a.m. yesterday.

The couple ignored the man.

A few minutes later, the man forced open the door and shot Caminos, who was sleeping behind the door.

Lumaino, who was then sleeping in a room, woke up to check the commotion and was also shot.

Police recovered two empty shells of a .40 caliber pistol inside the house.

Police are still investigating the attack to determine the motive and identify the perpetrator./Correspondent Joy Cherry S. Quito
