QC traffic rerouted for Sona

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD)  has released a traffic rerouting scheme for Monday in time for President Aquino’s State of the Nation Address. The scheme will be implemented from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Only the two leftmost portion of Commonwealth Avenue’s northbound lane will be open to traffic as concrete barriers will be placed in front of St. Peter Parish and Convergys. U-turn slots will be set up in front of Jockfer Building and Omni Tire Supply.

Northbound traffic will be rerouted with a counterflow on the southbound lane, starting from the Jockfer Building U-turn. After the San Simon U-turn, the northbound lane will be open to traffic.

Motorists from Tivoli Royale and other subdivisions behind the Ever Gotesco mall shall use the Jockfer U-turn.

U-turn slots in front of the Superstar KTV and Meralco Capitol will be closed.

Vehicles coming from the Capitol Estate 1 subdivision can take the U-turn slot at the St. Peter Parish.

The QCPD said the IBP Road will be open to one-way traffic beginning only Monday noon. Vehicles from Filinvest 1, Sinagtala, San Mateo Road and Filinvest 2 may exit through the Litex Road-Commonwealth Avenue area.

Vehicles from Fairview can use the same route in the opposite direction in going to the Quezon Memorial Circle.   Julie M. Aurelio
