/ 10:09 PM July 12, 2013

Two men were shot and wounded by policemen after allegedly declaring a robbery inside a bus plying Edsa in Mandaluyong City Friday afternoon.

The Mandaluyong police said the incident happened around 4:40 p.m. inside a Kellen Bus (UVX 682), then heading south on Edsa near Reliance Street. Suspects Dennis Nabale and Edwin  Moella, both of Rodriquez, Rizal province, boarded the vehicle at Ortigas Avenue and later declared a robbery on the bus, whose passengers happened to include Senior Police Officer 1 Alexander Tan of the PNP Civil Security Group and SPO3 Danilo Cosme of the Western Mindanao police.

The suspects tried to take a passenger’s necklace, prompting the officers, who were in civilian clothes, to fire at them. Moella was hit in the arm and body while Nabale was hit in the chest. Nathaniel R. Melican
