Committees, Capitol dep’t posts okayed

ALL Cebu Provincial Board (PB) members will hold committee chairmanships after the appointments made by Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale were approved unanimously last Monday.

Out of four PB members allied with One Cebu, three will chair one committee while the rest will have two committees.

Magpale said the appointments were based on the capabilities and expertise of each PB member.

“I consulted them if they wanted to be retained, some begged off. That was our basis,” she said.

The PB also confirmed  the appointments of three new Capitol officials in the administration of Governor Hilario Davide III.

They are Provincial Legal Officer Orvi Ortega, Provincial Administrator Mark Tolentino and Provincial Information Officer Ethel Natera.

Tolentino replaced former provincial administrator Eduardo Habin who was earlier fired by then Cebu governor and now 3rd district Rep. Gwendolyn Garcia.

Ortega took over the position of lawyer Marino Martinquilla, who remains with the provincial attorney’s office.

Natera will manage Cebu TV and Cebu Monthly, the official publication and television program of the Capitol. Correspondent Peter L. Romanillos
