Three teams start strong in second rd
THE LEXMARK Stallions and two other teams started their campaign in the second round of eliminations on a winning note after they scored separate wins last Sunday in the 2011 Powerade E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.
The Stallions posted a close 68-61 win over the Accenture Sharks, the Eperformax Reds routed the Xlibris Publishers, 76-47, while the Qualfon Knights scored their lopsided win against the Executive Boutique Tarantulas, 95-50.
Franco Angelo Cipriano tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Mervin Balansag listed 13 markers and eight boards as the duo powered the Stallions to their seventh win in nine games.
Randy Bihag finished with a game-high 24 points, Michael John Delavin scored 11 for the Sharks, who dropped to 3-6 (win-loss).
Raymond Dennis Tan piled up 16 points, Joel Nebria donated 10 markers in Eperformax’s fifth win in nine outings.
Xlibris, which dropped to 5-4, was led by Sergs Go Bui and Violeto Tan, who scored 19 and 10 points, respectively.
