Number coding lifted on Independence Day – MMDA

MANILA, Philippines -The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reminded the public Tuesday that the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program, or number coding, will be lifted on Independence Day.

In a Twitter post, the MMDA (@MMDA) said the number coding is automatically lifted during regular holidays such as the Independence Day.

If the scheme is in effect, plate numbers ending in 5 and 6 are not allowed to travel in major thoroughfares on Wednesdays.

Meanwhile, the MMDA also announced that several roads are set to be closed starting Tuesday evening in anticipation of programs for the holiday celebration.

Postal Rd./ Muelle del Rio
Magallanes Drive Ext. from Jones Bridge to McArthur Bridge

6 a.m. of June 12 onwards
Dasmariñas/Plaza Sta. Cruz (Southbound)
Escolta/Plaza Sta. Cruz (Southbound)
McArthur Bridge (Southbound)
Jones Bridge (Northbound)

Re-routing of Vehicles:
-Vehicles straight from Jones flyover intending to utilize Magallanes Drive Ext. shall go straight Jones Bridge/Quintin Paredes to point of destination

-All vehicles coming from Rizal Avenue intending to utilize the southbound lane of McArthur Bridge shall use Dasmariñas St., left Juan Luna, left Plaza Cervantes, right Jones Bridge to pint of destination;

-All provincial buses coming from Laguna/Cavite utilizing Taft Avenue going to Lawton/Park N Ride shall turn right UN Avenue, right San Marcelino to point of destination

– Magallanes Drive fronting NPC and Immigration
Closure: Rizal Monument

6 a.m. onwards
North and Southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak to TM Kalaw

Re-routing of Vehicles:
-All vehicles coming from northern part of Manila intending to utilize the Southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall left P. Burgos, right Ma. Orosa, right TM Kalaw to point of destination.
