Capitol Parish holds concert
The Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (OLSH) Parish in Capitol Site held a concert, dubbed “Songs of Faith and Jubilation.”
The free concert was organized last May 25 by the parish lectors, cantors and choir members in line with the parish’s 50th founding anniversary in August. The parish recently held its patronal fiesta in June 2.
The concert featured performances from cantors Mary Abigail Morales, Reycel Punay, Marian Grace Fajardo, Roger Tayactac, and Lezyl Borres; lectors Rannie Ortega and Haidee Emmie Palapar; the OLSH Parish Grand Choir and Joyce Pacaña, and Msgr. Agustin Ancajas. Hardy Bigcas provided the piano accompaniment. Guest choir was the Celestial Voices Choral under the direction of Nathaniel Familiar.
During the concert, parish lectors were also recognized for their selfless service in proclaiming the Word.
Msgr. Dennis Villarojo, parish moderator, said in his message that the concert is a prelude to a bigger one set in August as fundraising for the church’s expansion. The concert was directed by Msgr. Ancajas, and hosted by Palapar.
