LPA enters Philippines
MANILA, Philippines—A low pressure area monitored by the state weather bureau entered the Philippine territory Thursday, bringing in rains in parts of the country.
The potential cyclone, seen to trigger the start of rainy season if it intensifies, was last seen 580 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur and was embbeded along the inter-tropical convergence zone as of 8 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
The potential storm will be called “Dante” should it strengthen into a cyclone.
These weather systems will affect Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao.
The whole Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides, Pagasa said.
