Rama targets mayor’s league presidency
AFTER winning re-election, Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama wants the national presidency of the League of Cities of the Philippines.
Rama said he already spoke of his plans when he visited Vice President Jejomar Binay in Manila last week and will solicit assistance from other city mayors in Cebu.
“But I’ll pursue the chairmanship if Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada decides to run for league president,” Rama said.
He said he was unable to visit Estrada due to time constraints.
He said he called off his plans in 2010 after President Benigno Aquino III supported incumbent league president Oscar Rodriguez of San Fernando City, Pampanga.
Rama said Team Rama is still making arrangements for the July 1 oath-taking.
