NPA rebel in Quezon captured

MANILA, Philippines – A New People’s Army rebel was captured and a civilian was wounded in an encounter between the guerrillas and the military in Quezon on Sunday, the Southern Luzon Command said Monday.

The NPA guerrilla was identified as Roger Villaflores, known as Michael/ Noy/ Nika, a report from the Southern Luzon Command said.

The injured civilian was identified as Ferdinand Sayno, a resident of Siniloan in Laguna.

Government troops were conducting combat operations when they clashed with about eight rebels in Bakuyo sub-village in Llavac village, Real town.

Soldiers seized subversive documents and several firearms left behind by fleeing rebels.
