Man found dead after attacking wife

A MAN was found dead shortly after he stabbed his estranged wife in barangay Camputhaw, Cebu City.

Police are still investigating the cause of Antonio Abaigar’s death.

Abaigar, a resident of barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, had a minor wound in the right hand.

“Gamay raman ang samad sa kamot. Wa ba kaha to siya atakiha sa kasing-kasing (The wound in the hand was minor. He might have suffered a heart attack),” SPO3 Rey Cuyos of the homicide section of the Cebu City Police Office said.

Early this year, the wife filed charges against the man for violation of the Republic Act 9262 otherwise known as anti-violence against women and children.

The woman eventually withdrew the case, saying she took pity on her husband.

The couple separated after the filing of charges.

Yesterday morning, Abaigar went to the woman’s house and tried to woo her back.

The woman, however, refused to go with him.

This irked Abaigar, who stabbed his wife in the face with an icepick.

The wife fled.

The man tried to chase her but he was blocked by the woman’s neighbors.

The man went home after the incident.
