Teacher in Badian town accused of raping student
A teacher of a national high school in Badian town, southwest Cebu was accused of raping a 16-year-old student.
Police withheld the name of the suspect pending the filing of charges against him.
Police said the victim is a third year high school student in the same school where the suspect is teaching.
The two were distant relatives, police said.
The girl told police that she was walking home around 5 p.m. last Friday when the teacher called her.
The 24-year-old suspect, who is married, allegedly grabbed the girl’s arm, dragged her to the back of her house and raped her, police said.

Beriar said the girl’s younger sister saw the incident.
The younger sister told police that she shouted at the two to stop what they were doing but her sister told her “ayaw ug saba dinha (keep quite).”
Yesterday, both parties met at the police station where the suspect broke down in tears while asking forgiveness from the girl and her family.
Police are still waiting for the girl’s family to file a case against the teacher.
