SWU battles EAC
WITH THEIR MANILA sojourn nearly coming to an end, the Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras try to mount a powerful finishing kick and plan to start it today when they battle the Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) Generals in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Preseason Cup at the Arena in San Juan City.
Though their record (1-5) leaves a lot to be desired, the Cobras have shown glimpses of brilliance against the top collegiate teams in the nation. However, the wards of assistant coach Mike Reyes would like to bring home more than just a win to gain some momentum heading to their title defense in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi).
The Cobras got beat by the Letran Knights, 68-78, in their last outing with rookie Rey Nambatac anchoring a balanced scoring attack with 16 points. For SWU, Landry Sanjo once again came up big in his rookie stint with SWU as he scored a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
