Team PNoy loyalty check sign of panic, says UNA

MANILA, Philippines—Although only three of its senatorial candidates made it to the “magic 12” in the latest Pulse Asia survey, the United Nationalist Alliance said Tuesday it was rival Team PNoy that was “in panic mode.”

Representative Tobias Tiangco, UNA’s campaign manager, claimed he had gotten word that the ruling Liberal Party was now conducting a “loyalty check” among its local supporters in the wake of reports that they would end up supporting the UNA ticket on May 13.

“They’re now panicking over at LP,” he said in Filipino.

“Loyalty checks are a sign of desperation and panic. They cannot control their leaders who are supporting UNA,” he added, citing the case of Albay Governor Joey Salceda, who purportedly threw his suppo
