Norwegian loses cell phone, cash to female thief

A NORWEGIAN national lost his mobile phone and cash amounting to more than P50,000 to a female companion he brought to his hotel room along A.S. Fortuna, barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City, yesterday.

Harvard Troufat, 47, from Norway and who is renting a room at the Orchard Hotel reported the theft to police.

Senior Insp. Franco Rudolf Oriol, Subangdaku police station chief, said Troufat picked up a woman in a bar in Mango Square along Gen. Maxilom Avenue in Cebu City.

He later brought the female companion, “Angelie” to his hotel room.

Troufat said that he later fell asleep. When he woke up at past 3 a.m., he discovered Angelie gone and so were his mobile phone worth P40,000, a gold ring, and P17,000 cash.

Oriol said they would check on the close circuit television (CCTV) of the hotel to get a picture of Angelie. /Reporter Jucell Marie P. Cuyos
