SWU Cobras try to snap 3-game slide
THE Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras aim for a breakthrough in what has been a dreadful campaign so far in the FilOil Flying V Hanes Preseason Cup when they battle the San Sebastian Stags today at the Arena in San Juan City.
The Cobras have lost three straight, with the bottom point coming in an embarrassing 61-98 loss to the La Salle Green Archers last Saturday.
However, things just might be looking up today when they take on a rebuilding San Sebastian Stags squad that also lost their first game to Ateneo.
The Stags appear to be a shell of their former selves with the losses of their star players led by Calvin Abueva, Ronald Pascual and reigning NCAA MVP Ian Sanggalang.
Still, a lot of work still needs to be done by the Cobras with their new acquisitions, Fabrice Siewe and Landry Sanjo still looking to find their mark with the squad.
In their last game, only Monbert Arong topped double-figures in scoring with 13 points.
