Desiderio debuts with UP in FilOil today

CEBUANO juniors star Paul Desiderio, makes his much-awaited debut today as he suits up for the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons which takes on the Arellano University Chiefs in the 7th Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at the Arena in San Juan City.

Desiderio, a former juniors MVP of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) while playing for the University of the Visayas Baby Lancers, committed to join the Fighting Maroons in the offseason where he joins a loaded backcourt that also boasts of another former Cesafi alumnus, Henry Asilum, along with Chris Ball and former La Salle gunner, Joseph Marata.

The Chiefs, who are also making their debut in this tournament, also has their own former Cesafi player in power forward, Julius Cadavis.

In other games, the University of the East Red Warriors will try to follow up on their 81-62 demolition of Southwestern University the other day when they face off against the Lyceum Pirates while the Ateneo Blue Eagles gun for their third straight win against the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
