AFC, WSG officials to inspect CCSC
THE PLAN FOR Cebu to host the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President’s Cup 2013 – Group B Qualifiers from May 8 to 12 looks bright as the AFC and the World Sport Group (WSG) will conduct an inspection of the Cebu City Sports Center and other facilities in the city.
The inspection will be conducted by Benjamin Tan Tiong Meng, AFC head of club competitions department, and Madeleine Lim, WSG operations manager.
The two will be accompanied by officials of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) such as PFF competitions department head Cyril Dofitas and PFF international relations department head Maja Paula Ano.
Lawyer Edwin Gastanes, PFF Gen. Sec., arrived yesterday to conduct a preliminary inspection and meeting with the Cebu Football Association (CFA) for the appointment of the local organizing committee.
Aside from the sports center, also to be checked are possible training venues for the teams and hotels where the teams and AFC officials will be billeted.
The Philippines, which will be represented by Global FC, will go up against Dordoi Bishkek of Krygyzstan, Yeedzin of Bhutan and KRL of Pakistan. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
