DoJ orders BI to place former President Arroyo on watch list
MANILA, Philippines—Justice Secretary Leila de Lima on Tuesday ordered the Bureau of
Immigration to place on its watch list former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
De Lima said her order is based on the three plunder complaints pending before the Department of Justice. One of the complaints has been filed by former Solicitor General Frank Chavez for alleged misuse of overseas Filipino workers’ funds.
Arroyo is also accused of cheating in the 2004 presidential elections.—Tetch Torres
