Gunman in attack on 2 sisters sought
The police are looking for the man who shot a businesswoman and wounded her sister in Las Piñas City on Sunday morning.
The gunman in the killing of Guilma Bathan, 52, a resident of Bacoor, Cavite, and the wounding of her sister Maria Victoria Rendor, 42, remains unidentified although investigators are hoping that the shooting may have been captured by a closed-circuit television camera.
Police reports showed that Rendor was driving a car on Pilar Road in Barangay (village) Almanza Uno with Bathan seated beside her at 10 a.m. on Sunday when a man on a motorcycle cut across their path and opened fire on their vehicle.
The shooting happened in front of the Doña Josefa Village where the sisters were apparently headed for a business meeting since their family ran the Plastic Pak-Master plastic factory inside the subdivision, PO2 Christian Yanga told the Inquirer.
The victims were taken to Alabang Medical Center but Bathan died due to multiple gunshot wounds. Rendor survived although she was hit in the back and on the arm.
Casings recovered from the scene showed that the gunman was armed with a 9 mm firearm. He was described by witnesses as dark-skinned, thin, and of medium height, Yanga said.
