Beer Gins collar Vintage hoop title

THE Flor Yosores-led Beer Gins outgunned Alcords, 79-73 Saturday night to capture the championship of the 2011 Vintage Ball Club basketball tournament at the barangay Pooc Sports Complex in Talisay City.

Beer Gins led by three, 21-18, in the opening period but Alcords responded with a 19-16 run to forge a 37-all standoff at the half. The third quarter also ended in a 56-all deadlock as both team showed their strong intention to win the crown.

However, Beer Gins outscored Alcords, 23-17 in the fourth to win by six points.

Jozar Laroa and Leo Gerasmio led Beer Gins with 17 and 16 points, respectively with huge support from Flor Yosores who scattered 12 points all from beyond the arc.

Cesar Alcordo and Ricboy Nacario paced Alcords with 18 points apiece.
