Batch ‘99 split matches in 12th Cecaba caging
JEPOY ’99 had a rollercoaster ride as they split their games in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
Class ’99 breezed past Shell ‘80s, 65-60, last Sunday but got downed by Las Vegas KTV-M16 Disco ’94, 58-46, on Tuesday evening.
Mark Eugene Bukiron paced Class ’99 in both games, turning in 32 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals against Class ’80s and scoring 21 points, three rebounds and two assists against Class ’94.
Class ’99 dropped to 7-6, while Class ’80s suffered its fourth loss in 13 starts.
Stanley Gaw and Anthony Chua each scored 14 points, while Wellington Yu added 13 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists as Class ’94 bettered its win-loss record to 8-5.
After blowing hot and cold in the first three quarters, Class ’94 used a devastating 26-8 rally at the endgame to blow away Class ’99.
In the other game, star center Sammy Sia scattered 24 points and pulled down eight rebounds as Argentina Corned Beef ’84/87/90 escaped with a, 57-54 win over PTT 2005. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
