Pablo John says One Cebu are underdogs vs LP-Cebu
With his sister out of office due to a six-month suspension, One Cebu gubernatorial candidate Pablo John Garcia III said they are the underdogs in this year’s midterm elections.
In their campaign sortie in Daanbantayan last Monday, Pablo John said his sister, suspended Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, was allegedly betrayed by acting Gov. Agnes Magpale, whom he accused of wanting to take over the Capitol.
Garcia was suspended last December by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) on charges of usurping the authority of the late vice governor Greg Sanchez.
The One Cebu sortie held at the cultural center in barangay Maya, Daanbantayan was attended by 500 campaign leaders.
The LP-Cebu held a campaign sortie in Bogo City, one of their bailiwicks in the province.
Pablo John, who campaigned without running mate Boboy Durano, said he is ready to continue his sister’s projects. He and Durano are running against Hilario Davide III and Magpale respectively.

I’ve helped many in the third district, I accomplished many things),” Garcia said.

Daanbantayan Mayor Maria Luisa Loot asked her barangay coordinators to help campaign for a straight vote and include Durano when they vote for the Garcias.
Governor Garcia and Loot had a falling out in the 2010 elections.
Though she didn’t campaign for him, Davide won by a large margin of votes in Daanbantayan against the suspended governor.
She also said a request to conduct a lifestyle check on Pablo John filed before the Ombudsman-Visayas concerning his mansion in Cebu City is another LP-Cebu strategy to kick Garcia out in case Magpale wins.
