A man who had earned the trust of his boss over eight years by working for him as a driver and clerk was arrested on Saturday for allegedly stealing more than P1-million worth of antihypertension medicine.
Bonnie Maniego, 26, was picked up by the police at his apartment in Project 4, Quezon City based on a complaint filed by his employer, Ricardo Castillo, a businessman dealing in pharmaceutical and medicine supplies.
Insp. Alan dela Cruz, theft and robbery chief of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said they were looking for Maniego’s accomplice whom they identified as Ramon Almadin.
The businessman filed the complaint after he discovered that someone had taken three boxes containing 7,200 pieces of hydralazine hydrochloride worth P1.04 million from his house in Quezon City.
He confronted his housemaid, Jojie Gargar, who told him that she saw Maniego and Almadin load the medicine boxes into a van on Friday afternoon.
