Cabbie killed

A taxi driver was shot by an unidentified gunman in an auto repair shop in barangay Hipodromo, Cebu City.

Aquillo Atillo, 62, a resident of barangay Lorega, Cebu City, died on the spot with two gunshot wounds in the back.

Police said a fellow taxi driver whom the victim argued with a few days before the attack will be invited for questioning.

Police said the victim had his taxi repaired in M.J. Cuenco Avenue on Friday.

The taxi was fixed a few hours later.

Atillo was about to board the taxi when a man arrived and shot the victim.

The assailant fled on a motorcycle driven by another man.  The victim’s wife told police her husband and fellow taxi driver argued a few days ago.

She said the trouble started when her husband discovered that the taxi didn’t have enough fuel when it was his turn to use it.

As a result, the victim also did not refuel the taxi when he turned it over to his fellow driver, who confronted him about it.
