Vote for Palawan’s Underground River
THE Department of Education is asking both public and private schools to vote for the Puerto Princesa Underground River as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.
Votes may be sent online or by SMS (short message sending or text message).
Multiple votes by SMS are allowed until midnight of Aug. 8. From Aug. 9 to Nov. 8, each mobile number will be allowed only one vote.
To vote for the Underground River, simply send PPUR, PPUR7 or PPUR15 to 2861 (all networks). Each vote cast will cost P2.50. The “7” and “15” suffixes in messages indicate the number of votes cast.
Online voters may register at www.new7wonders.com. Only one vote is allowed for each registered e-mail address.
The final round of voting that started in 2009 will end midnight of Nov. 10. Winners will be announced on Nov. 11.
The Puerto Princesa Underground River is the sole nominee from the Philippines. It now ranks seventh among 28 nominees in online and SMS voting worldwide.
The search for the New 7 Wonders of the World is led by Canadian-Swiss Bernard Weber.
