THE ADAMSON Falcons grabbed a share of second place in the standings while the University of the East finally broke through in the win column as the two squads logged in victories in the 74th UAAP basketball tournament, yesterday at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Falcons improved to 4-2 (win-loss) after they trounced the La Salle Green Archers, 66-58.

The Adamson win snapped La Salle’s three-game winning streak.`

The Red Warriors, on the other hand, eked past the National University Bulldogs, 72-71, for their first win in seven games.

Paul Zamar made sure that the Warriors would get a win this season as he scored 20 points to lead UE.

His efforts spoiled the 23-point effort of Bobby Ray Parks and the double-double performance of Emmanuel Mbe, who had 13 points and 11 rebounds.
