Police defuse bomb left in tricycle in Sultan Kudarat

ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat, Philippines—An alert pedicab driver prevented what could have been a bloody Friday morning when he alerted the police to a suspicious bag left in his tricycle, police said.

Senior Superintendent Rex dela Rosa, Sultan Kudarat police director, said the pedicab driver alerted the police in front of the Isulan public market at  11:45 a.m. Friday about the bag left by an unidentified man in his tricycle.

Police and Army bomb experts confirmed the bag to contain an improvised explosive device set to be remotely detonated and they quickly defused it, Dela Rosa said.
